Casked. Copper coloured, big beige bubbly head, which lasts for quite a while. Aroma is strong fruity hops along with some wooden and even spicy hints. Flavour is fruity and smoothly hopped along with some spices. The finish is almost close to caramelly sweet. Very wellbalanced brew, and creamy palate. In aftertaste there’s also some slight vanillaish hints.

Thin coarse white head; slightly hazy light orange body. Fruity, faintly wooden aroma with notes of light malts. Taste is soft wooden fruit again with notes of wild berries. Aftertaste is bitter resin and grass. Quite hoppy and excellent light, delicate mouthfeel. Really very nice. An excellent session beer. (0.5 pint on cask.)

Bottle: Amber coloured, huge off-white fluffy head; a big touch of hop-resins and hop-oil in the aroma, together with some fruity notes; mainly dry bitter, robust flavour, rather light bodied; some hints of lemons in the - again - dry and bitter finish. A tasty brew, which should have a bit fuller body.........

Cask Conditioned at Charlie’s Pub, Copenhagen
Hazy amber color. Light aroma of grassy hops and sugars. Strange flavor, some malt, bold bitterness, woody stringency, almost vinous and corky. A bit odd.

Cask@Beer Hunters. Orange, amber yellow/red color, good off-white head. Good fresh cut grass and flowery hoppy nose. Very strong grassy hoppy flavor. Long bitter aftertaste. Almost IPA-like, definately different than bottled version.

Bottle. Amber golden, slightly hazy with a small, creamy head. Fruity, floral and fresh nose. Rather sweet, malty flavours well balanced by the pronounced hoppiness. A very nice bitter.

Bottled (as HN 303 AD). Copper coloured, big beige bubblyish foamy head. Aroma is strong fruity hops. Flavour is fruity and smoothly hopped. The finish is almost close to caramelly sweet. Very wellbalanced brew, and creamy palate. Quite filling for only 4%. One of the better bitters I have had lately.

Bottled (BB 01/2007). Clear amber color, firm creamy head. Woody and slightly metallic hoppy aroma. Dry, English hops dominating flavor. Hints of sweetness in the aftertaste. Quite solid bitter - does not feel like only 4.0%, propably even a bit better as a real ale version.

Cask handpull at Wetherspoons. Folkestone. I put the poor condition of this beer down to the fact that it was served at a JDW pub, but given the previous rating, perhaps I was wrong and that this beer really just doesn’t have much to it. Gold with thick lasting beige head. Bit of cream. Some hay type hop. In mouth, its soft and rather flavourless. Soft golden bitter with a bit of dusty hop and some citrus. Where is the flavour?
