One-third pint, cask at Penderels Oak, High Holborn. Crystal clear golden-brown body, Naked surface. Modest malt-fruity smell. Well blended flavour of malts and fruits with notes of resin, lemon and grainy malts. Rounded bittersweet ending. True to the style (JDWs real-ale festival, Greater London 01.11.2012).

From cask at The Counting House. Pours clear and golden deep amber with a small off white head. Aroma is toasted malty and light fruity. Mild breadish, sweet, caramelish and berry fruity. Bitter and toasted malty finish.

Cask @ JDW Standing Order, Edinburgh
Amber, clear, dense thin white head with some lacing. Little on the nose. Taste of soft pale cereal malts, some dull citrus fruits, dull zest, hint of grapefruit, rather dull overall. The palate was oily and the finish was dry with some soft zest. Rather disappointing for Hook Norton.

Cask at the Old Gaol House (JDW), Winchester. A rather basic pale ale; hazy amber in colour with loose translucent head; and a light, malty aroma; the taste is also light and malty with some sweetness; followed by a short burst of nettley hops then a biscuity finish.

Cask at Cockney Pub, Århus
Cloudy yellow color, without head, but with a few stable bubbles in the glass. The aroma in the beginning seems hoppy and citrusy, but it later reveals an unpleasant sourness. Light malt flavor and very strong bitterness; too much yeast; even salty. It’s extra hopped but the result, instead of an aromatic Golden Ale, is a disturbingly bitter Ale, with a very harsh final. Really not pleasant to drink.

Bottled@The 2nd ES/CS Beer Tasting. (thanks JP). Yellowish golden colour, small white head. Aroma is citrus fruits, grass, mild dough as well as some sweet maltyness. Flavour is grassy, fruity, bready and also has some mild nectary and herbal notes. Rather watery palate.

Hazy golden with a small white head. Clean and fresh hoppy aroma of hay, grapefruit peel and fruit. Bone dry crisp and refreshing flavour dominated by citrus and grassy hops, and faint grainy malts. Bitter finish. It may have helped that it has been my only cask golden ale all the summer of 2010, other than Fullers Discovery...
