Huge thanks to Erzengel for that one! Bottle looks simple but good. Beer in the glass dark brown, almost black. Intense roasty malty aroma. Starts mild, malty, more and more alcoholic notes, caramel, lacto, shy vanilla hints. Finish well balanced, soft-malty, wonderful vanilla finish. Nice!

330ml bottle. Dark, chestnut colour with ruby shimmer and small to average, creamy, moderately lasting, minimally lacing, dark beige to tan head. Relatively weak, dark and caramel malty aroma, hints of dark caramel, coffee, a touch of vanilla. Taste is sweet-ish, dark and caramel malty, notes of dark caramel, some coffee, vanilla, treacle, a touch of cream, a light alcoholic touch of nut liqueur. Slightly creamy texture, smooth and soft palate, fine, soft, creamy to foamy carbonation. Nice composition with quite some depth, pretty homogeneous - good.

Buddel (330ml): Deep ruby-amber coloured, presumably hazy, small tanned foamy layer, moderate sweet-bitter aroma of toasted malt with traces of caramel, chocolate and dried berries; mild (!) to moderate sweet-bitter flavour, astonishingly light bodied for a Doppelbock; soft and lingering sweet and bitter finish with returning traces of malt, caramel and chocolate. A tame Doppelbock, but nevertheless well drinkable…

Mild grainy. Bitter caramelly with a nice grainy back. Deep roasted, very great mix of caramelly sweetness and dry roasted grainy bitterness. Highly drinkable. Great dark stuff.

0,33 l bottle out of the mixed 6er. A darkest red brown in the glass with a nearly two finger beige head. Looks really good. Malt and caramel on the nose. Taste is also malty, caramel, nuts, some almonds. Little bit roasted. Smooth and creamy. No real carbonation but this doesn´t matter. Nice.

Süßlicher, leicht blecherner Malzbeginn. Karamell, dumpf, wenig Vanille. Auch im Mittelteil noch etwas muffig, was sich sogar noch steigert, nicht sonderlich harmonisch. Mittellanger Abgang. 10/7/7/7/10/7
