Really dark brown with thick creamy head. Aroma and flavour have roasted malt. It's bittersweet with slightly smokey notes and a touch of dark chocolate. Really creamy rich texture.

Optisch top, schöner Cappuccino-Schaum. In der Nase Schokolade, leicht röstig. Im Trunk wundervoll schokoladig, Espresso-Röstnoten, süß, spät Zartbitter, sehr lecker.

35cl Blik van Beer Republic. Zwarte kleur, beige kraag. Chocolade, caramel, wat gebrande mout, smaakt bijna als een vloeibare Mars, lichtbittere finish. Lichte body, glad. Simpel maar effectief.

On tap at AleSmith, pours a deep dark brown with a small white head. Aroma brings out light roast, earthiness, and gentle hops. Flavour is robust, with medium roast, earthiness and a hint of hops. Hearty and robust. Nicely made no-nonsense porter.

Can. Dark brown with a good inch of beige head that collapses to a cm but never disappears. Aroma of brioche, wattle seed, chocolate. Not all that sweet with decent body, bread, chocolate. Not as earthy as the aroma suggested. Firm, mildly spiced bitterness. Nice, perhaps not as characterful as hoped.
