Bottle from West Side. Pours a clear, light copper with a half finger of foam that lingers. Dank aromas with papaya, gasoline and citrus. Bright tangerine with lime and a touch of sweetness. Some tropical notes on the palate as it warms with a prickly bitterness that runs throughout the finish. Pleasantly surprised.

Honeysuckle, marigold, and apricot aroma. Cloudy amber, fullof floating sediment, medium yellow head, nice lace. Honey and honeysuckle, lillies, grapefruit. Apricot, kale, and lemongrass finish. Full body, moderate carbonation, slightly warm. Distinctive, nice balance. I like the malt bill as much as the hops in this DIPA.

Bottle/Fest. A- Mango, passion fruit, tangerines, pineapple, tropical citrus, juicy. A- Gold color, hazy liquid, white head. T- Juicy, citrus, slightly grassy, mild bitterness. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, juicy finish. O- This is loaded down with tropical citrus fruits and has a very mild bitterness. This is my kind of IPA, especially for a DIPA. Good stuff.

12 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 12/30/2106. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy medium orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with good retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, lemon/orange peel, light pepper/pine, honey, light caramel, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of citrus/tropical/fruity hops and moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, lemon/orange peel, light pepper, pine, honey, light caramel, lightly toasted bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine/citrus rind/spicy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of tangerine, grapefruit, pineapple, peach, passion fruit, papaya, mango, melon, berry, lemon/orange rind, pepper, pine, honey, lightly toasted bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a while. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/fruity/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance, and minimal lingering hop astringency after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from lingering bitterness, increasing through the glass. Medium carbonation and medium-plus body; with a very smooth, moderately bready/grainy/sticky, and lightly resin/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Mild warming alcohol for 9%. Overall this is a great DIPA. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/tropical/fruity/pine hops and moderate pale malt flavors; very smooth and easy to drink for the ABV. Very bright, dank, and juicy on hops; nice malt backbone without feeling heavy or sweet. A really enjoyable offering.

The thick, white sediment cloud is a definite turnoff. Initial taste dank and bitter (nice) but a bit thin. The thinness, though, is replaced with a slight sweet, fruit. The finish is heavy pine.

Pour is a hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma is a piney, dank grapefruit rind hop. Flavor is a heavy malt bill with some bitter grapefruit hops with some honeydew melon and green onions. While not sweet the malt bill was a bit heavy. 20 years ago this would have been on par with a impy IPA but using lighter malt would have made this a more fruit hop forward IPA. It still was flavorful and reminded me of trying those first west coast IPA’S.
