Our flagship Dark Lager, aged in freshly emptied rye barrels. After soaking up a healthy amount of whiskey flavour, we then blended the barrel back with fresh dark lager to get the best of both worlds. Light and complex, smooth and bold with notes of hazelnut, cacao and woodland oak.

Amber-brown. No head. Heavy woody character. Tannins, cedar, sweet dark malt base. Okay, the sweetness of the lager works decently with the treatment, but it's not a particularly enthralling base beer. Not getting there for me.

Poured from the tap. Medium dark amber brown with small light beige head. Whiskey soaked wood chips, very herbal, resiny tree sap, feint hint of toasted nuts in the background. Slightly thin and not very cohesive.

Kind of a murky burnt sienna body, okay foam. Nice biscuit and caramel on the nose, some sweet nutty rum barrel too. Taste is quite nutty, maybe soft wood notes, plenty of malty caramel. Finishes smooth. Easy and nicely sweet, but not much depth here.

ottle at Weathered 2022, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted nuts, some herbal and bready notes. Flavour is gentle, with toasted nuts, earthiness, and herbal notes. Earthy and toasted finish. Decent but nothing special.
