Hazy amber with a lasting white head. Malty aroma with bread, caramel and toffee with hints of orange peel, peach and black tea. Sweet malty and fruity flavour with lots of toffee and caramel. Very, very old school, except it's too sweet and lacking the hop bitterness for balance.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a reddish amber with a slight haze and a smallish, off-white head. Somewhat odd, spicy aroma - spruce? Definitely no dryhopping, at least not of any quality. Medium body, almost coffeeish and biscuity again perhaps some spruce although none seems to be added. Bitter finish. At least not horrible, but totally lacks the elegant aromatics of a proper IPA. 021121

bottle. holy moly, now this is a dark colored ipa if i ever saw one. color is amber, like a vienna, yellow head. aroma is dominated by spicy ish bitterhops, based in a solid malty non-sweet base. there are some buttercookies with citrus notes that i really do not find belong in a beer like this. flavor is malty, uk style, bitterhoppy, undefined spices (shelf dustoff random stuff) faint browncakes. they should not have called this jule ipa, jule brew would be much more telling, and people who think they scored an ipa for cristmas will be a bit disappointed. There is a decent amount of us hops flavors in there, but they are nearly drowned out by malts, caramel and spicy notes. by very far i would prefer the thisted julesne, much more ipa'ish.
