Fencerow is our Blond Missouri Wild Ale that was fermented in and aged in Chardonnay barrels with Missouri yeast and bacteria before being aged on wild Black Raspberries from our hometown of Puxico Missouri for 12 months before being naturally conditioned in the bottle. [Released 9/5/2014]
For the first release of Fencerow, 3 years ago, I was able to pick 60 lbs of wild Black Raspberries. I added them to a single barrel of a Blond Missouri Wild Ale that was fermented entirely with the microflora that had also come from Puxico Missouri. This netted about 300 375mL bottles, a tiny release! Fresh, Fencerow Blend #1 was rich and vibrant, but with time, the fruit was no match for the acidity of our Side Project cultures.

375 ml bottle at the Brewery. Dark bloody purple to black color with pinkish head. Aroma is dark berries, sweet and tart, vinous, some sweet notes like honey after it gets warmer, sweet red wine grapes, some funk. Sweet and acidic taste like aroma. Medium oily body with soft carbonation.

CBS vertical tasting @ Tim's. Thank you Jon for sharing. Pours red, with some pink foam. Vinegary balsamic nose, you can make salad dressing with this. Raspberries and some cherry jam in the nose as well. Dry fruitiness emerging from sour beginnings, tart overall, light bodied. Vinegar in the finish too, dry, fruity and still dry finish.

Inky purple pink color. Super intense blackberries, raspberries, lobsters, oak, very tart. Very tart with the berries just super concentrated and dry. The lobsters lingering in the finish. Really interesting. Very different. Love it
