TART RASPBERRY WHEAT INSPIRED BY BERLINER WEISSE
Supreme is liberal take on a Berliner Weisse – a sour wheat beer that originated in Berlin.
Our version uses a special yeast called Lachancea that produces both lactic acid (like the bacteria used for yogurt and lambics), and alcohol (like most beer yeast). We use a mix of pilsner and wheat malts, Golding hops for some minty, herbal depth, and then a load of organic raspberries. This beer is tart, pink and easy to drink even for those who don’t often drink beer.

33cl can. A slightly hazy orange golden beer with a white head. Aroma of sour raspberry, yam, hints of lacto. Taste of sour raspberries, some lactose, some vinegar. Quite refreshing!

Can from Hopduvel. Clear dark orange-red, thin, off-white head. Aroma of raspberry, cranberry, redcurrant, berry peels, wheat, vague hay, vague iron. Taste has sweet-sour raspberry & redcurrant, earthy cranberry and even some rhubarb; slightly bitter, minerally, in a wheaty malt body. Tart, red-fruity finish, lingering tannic berry peels. Medium body, slick texture, average carbonation. Good one, just never really comes to the fore.

Clear with a light pinkish hue. Aroma and flavour have punchy, tart puckering acidity. Very nice raspberry intensity. Refreshing and easy to drink.

Clear peach orange to light pink beer, small creamy pinkish head, stable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: lots of raspberries, more raspberries, almost sweet impression. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: lots of fresh sour raspberries, nice acidity, lacto-acid, little bitter. Aftertaste: lots of raspberries, refreshing, nice acidity, lovely stuff, slightly sweet, bit lemony. Very nice one!
