Tap at Sommar, Brindleyplace, Birmingham. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty malt, light caramel. The flavour is moderate liqourice bitter, with a smooth, rich, liqourice, chocolate, coffee, dry earthy palate. Medium bodied with average to soft carbonation.

On tap at WIP, Lichfield. Pours almost black with a substantial foamy beige head and good lacing. A little chocolate in the aroma. In the mouth it is very bitter with roasted malts to the fore giving coffee and caramel effects. Saltiness can be detected too, along with peppery spices which increase in the finish. A bit strange, but a very good beer to commemorate the 5000th in my personal records.
