Tropical Lager

Citrango is our hoppy tropical lager brewed using a traditional double decoction mash and hopped with Americana Citra hops. After the boil, it rests in our copper coolship for 1 hour and is then transferred over our baudelot cooler. Citrango undergoes a cool fermentation using a German lager yeast. It is cellared for several months and finally dry hopped prior to release.

Can to lager glass.
Appearance: murky yellow color with a two and a half fingers of white foamy head which slid off nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: plenty of tropical fruity hops up front backed up by a nice dose of citrusy hoppy notes, clean malts
Flavor: combines a great blend of the previously noted aromas; light aftertaste of tropical fruity hops
Texture: light to medium bodied, very sessionable, semi-smooth the tongue; finishes tropical fruity with a smooth vibe
Overall: pretty nice lager well worthy of returning to.

Can from Livonia Liquor. Pours a clear gold with a full 2 fingers of head that lingers. Lovely pineapple, passionfruit and mikan aromas on the nose. More of the same on the palate, with light mineral notes and a soft mouthfeel. Smooth finish with lingering tropical fruit and mineral notes. I like this.

Pours hazy gold into a shaker. Bright white head with good retention recedes to skim surface. Mango and hay aromas. Soft with dry, dusty mango skin and citrus upfront turning thin in the medium-length heather finish.

Canned May 2021, drunk 7/30/21.
Massive, white head tops a golden-amber body with good clarity. Strong retention.
Tropical fruits in the nose are lush and juicy while honey, bread and light caramel enter the mix, easily balancing the light hop acidity. Light perfume-like character from somewhere. Not too heavy on the orange character, or at least it's not dominant. Very clean. No alcohol noted.
Soft, malty, juicy and well-attenuated with plentiful honey, bread and light caramel. Floral/perfume character with resulting bitterness on the end gets a touch astringent. The texture is so soft and comforting though, so it's not too big a deal. Lingering papaya, lavender and honey. Tight carbonation and no alcohol or flaw.
