Draught @ Erlings, Aarhus. Pours very dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, little sweet fruit, wood, light peat, smoke, whisky. Flavor is peated, sweet, malty, caramel, light burnt, licorice, peated whisky, smoke, boozy. Medium body, soft to average carbonation, sweet peated finish with lots of warming alcohol. 210919

Black with thin head. Aroma and flavour are very dry and woody. Decent but I miss some roast and smoke.

Fast gone rust-coloured head over jet-black beer. Whisky (Islay)-laden, black chocolate pralines, some faint vegetable notes , rich alcohol and fusels aromas and of course lots of peat and roast. Sweet (as from Traubenzucker) mixed with smoked, peated syrup and a serious dash of sodawater. Too easy, really. Surprisingly spritzy carbonation, serious alcoholthinning and -heath to long afterwarmth. Its appeal is more in its (relative) predictability, rather than in its complexity. The real IRS geek is going to be disappointed, OTOH, it drinks away scarily easy for its formidable ABV...

Bottle. Black pour. Aroma of smooth peat, smoke, chocolate, tarr, malt and some red fruit. Taste has boozy molasses, smoke, sweet peat, burned caramel, chocolate, licorice and booze. Boozy finish. The aroma is nice, but the flavor is a bit too boozy and weirdly sweetish.

33cl Bottle. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of green apple, some booze, not much of the promised peat, just a hint, some roast, milk chocolate. Flavour is medium sweet, green apples, booze, again just a hint of peat, not much RIS flavour as well. Maybe a case of palate fatigue at the end of the NYE tasting, but this was well below sub-par for me.

Bottle. Color: Black, thin beige head. Aroma: Whisky, peat, roasted malt. Taste: Roasted malt, slightly overwhelmed by the Islay Whisky. Peaty notes and umami notes. Hints of dark chocolate. Moderate sweet and moderate to medium bitter. Medium to over medium body, below average carbonation. A bit unbalanced and could use a bit more body. Ok, but I expected more from the White Label series.
