From bottle: 3 years old. Holzgereift, says the label. Toffee, oak and vanilla in the aroma. Full bodied. Malty sweet flavor with toffee and oak. Vanilla and dried fruit. Hardly any Carbon. Very well matured and balanced.

03-02-19 // tap at Markthalle 9 Berlin at the Wurst&Bier Festival. Vertical with a 2 and a 3 year old. Lovely stuff. 3y more vanilla and oak. The 2y old was with a thicker and creamier body. But the 3y was much more complex. I liked both but would prefer a blend of the 2.

Shared at tasting @ Koelschtrinker's place. Malty smooth deep beginning. Intense rich with lots of caramel and roast. Viscous, moderate sweetish, malty and deep. Great fantastic deep malty aftertaste, not too much bitterness, extreme round and smooth. Fantastic for a Barley Wine - malt, caramel, molasses.

Sampled from 0.75 l bottle, best before December 2018. Clear, dark ruby with a frothy, off-white head. Sweetish-malty, slightly fruity and a bit yeasty aroma of molasses, caramel, raisins, prunes, some vanilla and traces of green apples. Very sweet, malty, slightly fruity taste of caramel, molasses, raisins, prunes, some vanilla and hints of green apples, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, slightly woody-dry finish. Medium to full body, slightly oily and a bit effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay!
