[keg hopped version, limited release] Hazy yellowish coloured with no head. Sourish grape, some floral notes and hints of hops in aroma. In tase the tart grapey-winey notes are the first to appear, with detectable woody undertones. The bitter hops come after, in the long lasting, lingering finish, where the wine also returns. If there were just a slightly more DIPA characteristcs to it, it’d be very close to perfection. Still, a very exciting, properly made brew. Huge up to the Mad Scientist guys for having the courage to take new directions. Hungary’s no 1 microbrewery for sure.

Bottle at Hopaholic, Budapest. Aroma is big wood, vanilla, wine, tart grapes, some alcohol, ripe fruits, apricot. Don't get much funk. Flavour is medium sweet with some bitterness but not a lot of the bittering quality of the hops left. Body is above medium. Nice wine barrel aged ale, not much left of the IPA crisp fresh hops, as expected. Enjoyable.

2018 bottle, 11.2% ABV. Pale amber color. Dried fruit, vinous and bretty notes. Oak in the aroma and flavor. Grapes. Sweet, with oak dominating the aftertaste. Fairly well hidden alcohol. Nice and complex beer, a little rough around the edges.

Tap at Hopaholic, Budapest. Poured a murky medium amber with a thin broken white head. The aroma is vinous, oaky, sweet fruit, dry hop. The flavour is dry alcohol bitter with a crisp, fruity, slightly oily, dry vinous, light warm boozy alcohol palate. Medium bodied with flat carbonation. Breaking new ground here. Rather unique for Hungary and it’s nice to see breweries here producing beers like this. Rather nicely balanced and quite drinkable in small quantities. Expensive but absolutely worth the money.

0.33l bottle from Masik bolt Budapest. Hazy orange body with a lasting white head. Funky and sweet in the nose. Losts of tropical fruits in it like lychee and passion fruit with lemon zest and pepper. Maybe a bit of caramel too. Taste of passion fruit, grape seed, lemon juice, pepper and a hint of caramel. Medium body with a warming alcohol. The finish is bitter first and it turns sour after a couple of seconds. After a while the wood shows up. Not overwhelmingly, only to add a bit to the complexity Great beer.
