A "Texas style Brown Ale", this is not your wimpy English nut brown ale but an all American version brewed with American grown base malt and roasted malts as well as a generous amount of mosaic hops for bitter deliciousness!

Draft. Toasty malt, herbal cat pee hops aroma (reminded me a lot of the smell of blackcurrant foliage). Clear chestnut with a large off-white head, creamy lacing. Roasty malt, earthy piney hops flavor. Almost like a black IPA. Medium body, soft carbonation.

tap at the brewpub - The menu calls this beer a "Texas style brown ale". It’s not to be confused with their long retired Texas Brown Ale. Among other things this one features very new hop hybrid Mosaic. This medium brown colored brew has a light tan head and an aroma led by pine/juniper with caramel in the background. It’s medium bodied and smooth on the palate with light carbonation. This is an aggressively hopped beer with the piney hops right up front. Toasted caramel malt plays a supporting role. Quite good.
