Scottish Ale biedt een mooie gelegenheid om een interessante nieuwe smaak te ervaren. Zoals iedere brouwerij zijn eigen details aan een recept toevoegt, hebben wij dit donkere bier op smaak gebracht met jeneverbes en zoethout. Na de vergisting met een Scottish Ale-gist, heeft het bier twee maanden op eikenhout gerijpt. De smaak is lichtjes zoet, met een milde bitterheid en accenten van hout en drop.

Bottle. Amber color. Malt, vanilla, caramel and a hint of licorice in the aroma. Malty sweet, caramelly flavor with juniper, licorice and vanilla. Soft tart finish. Decent.

33cl Bottle from Mitra Tiel. Hazy brown colour, beige head. Aroma of butterscotch, Werthers Original, light berry tartness. Flavour is sweet, fruity, roosvicee, tart fruity finish. Light bodied. Not great.

33 cl. bottle @ the ’Vrijstadmarkt’ in Culemborg. Light brown with a thin beige head. Malty aroma with indeed some licorice. The juniper berries are more noticeable after the first, sweetish, sip. Nice winterwarmer; not as sweet, spicy and heavy as most winter beers, which makes it better drinkable in my opinion.
