Another 33 cl bottle acquired from a responsive seller in the Netherlands. This brew represents two of the significant things I like in a beer, it is a quadrupel and it has been barrel aged. I have my Chimay glass ready for a pour after I work the wax and lid off. The color is a shiny, dark brown finished by a thin skim of very fine, light tan bubbles. The smell is inviting, I get ripe fruit, grain, syrup and, surprisingly, chocolate. The drink is superb, all I could want from a quad. Dark raisins, figs, chocolate again, maple works its way in, malt and some alcohol. A small burn accompanies. A fine quadrupel.

Bottle shared with Joes at Van Moll. Opaque dark brown colored beer with a small beige head. Aroma is malts, leaves, maple. Flavor is malts, sweetness, maple, brown candy sugar. Sweet but as expected. Quote solid.

Black with a thin tan head. Dark caramel, raisins, molasses, vanilla and brown sugar aroma. Sweet taste and long sweet finish. Sweet and smooth.
