Juliana Babii, brewer at Pravda Brewery, our friends in Lviv, crossed the Ukrainian-Polish border together with the refugees, to come brew Kolos with us in Brussels. Two days later she returned to her homeland at war, to keep on brewing there despite the horrifying conditions.
Kolos is a refreshing summer beer. She is brewed with wheat, rye, spelt and barley malts, to pay homage to the grain culture of Ukraine. We dry-hopped her with Zachrava, a Ukrainian hop, which makes her floral and spicy in the nose.
The profits of the sale will be donated to a solidarity fund that houses and feeds the massive amounts of refugees that have flood the city of Lviv. By drinking Kolos you will contribute to this fund.

Brown bottle, 33 cl, via SAQ - Plateau on 4 May 2023, savoured on 10 December 2024; eye: caramel with an orange hue, cloudy, good effervescence, thin sheet of beige head, no lacing; nose: bread, spices, fruity, light Belgian yeast; mouth : spices, light fruitiness, light Belgian yeast, light bittering hops, finale in Belgian yeast with good presence of spices, light-medium body, lightly bitter, lightly sweet, rather carbonated, lightly fleshy texture; in summary: correct FRANÇAIS
Bouteille brune, 33 cl, via SAQ - Plateau le 4 mai 2023, savourée le 10 décembre 2024; œil : caramel avec une teinte orangée, voilée, bonne effervescence, mince couverture de mousse beige, pas de dentelle; nez : pain, épices, fruité, léger levure belge; bouche : épices, léger fruité, léger levure belge, léger houblon amérisant, finale en levure belge avec bonne présence d’épices, corps léger-moyen, légèrement amère, légèrement sucrée, plutôt carbonatée, texture légèrement charnue; en résumé : correct

Bottle: Poured a yellow color ale with a large pure white foamy head with good retention and some good lacing. Aroma of rustic malt notes with some peppery notes. Taste is also a mix of rustic malt notes with some peppery yeast notes and light rye presence also noted and some dry hops. Body is a bit thin with some good carbonation. Well made saison but not the biggest fan of Zachrava hops.

(Draught at Brasserie de la Senne, Brussels, 22 Oct 2022) Hazy golden yellow colour with frothy, off-white head. Malty, fruity nose with notes of bread, orange, apricots and herbs. Malty, fruity, spicy taste with bread, grain, hay, citrus, apricots and a balanced herbal bitterness in the finish. Medium body, quite dry. Tasty, complex and refreshing. Very nice.

33cl Fles van De Bierkoning. Mistig-gele kleur, witte kraag. Bloemig, citroen, citroenrasp, licht moutig, droog, bisongras, licht kruidig, vrij bitter. Lichte body. Vrij generiek De La Senne-bier, en dan niet hun beste. Desondanks nog altijd bovengemiddeld goed.

Bottle. Hazy golden color with white head. Aroma is funky, dough, a bit earthy. Taste is green fruits, some spelt spice?, earthy, nicely peppery. Oily mouthfeel, medium carbonation. Nice one!

Flaska från Etre. Disig gul vätska med högt stabilt äggviteskum. Doft och smak av ljust bröd, bovete, jäst, örter och gräs. Torr och krispig, ganska stram och besk, lätt sötma med lite omogen stenfrukt. Gott

Draft at Foeders. Oh yeah so nice with the massive massive wet weedy hops, soft wheat and yeast. Great.
