33 cl bottle @ Sijf Aroma has coffee and ash. Flavour has pot coffee, tobacco licorice and ash. A bit too much CO2 on the foamy palate. Still quite nice.

Bottle. Black. Malt, licorice, white pepper and pipe tobacco in the aroma and flavor. Malty sweet, fairly complex. Dry roastbitter finish. Good.

330ml bottle. Jet black colour with initially absurdely huge, frothy, condensing, then creamy, overall mostly lasting, minimally lacing, beige head. Smoky, roasty, dark malty aroma, hints of ashes, dark chocolate, intense hoppy counterweight with piney and grassy notes. Taste is sligthly smoky, roasty dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, some coffee, a touch of ashes and bacon, subtle caramel malty sweetness, bitter hoppy counterpart with grassy and piney notes in almost Black IPA-ish quantities, fruity overtones with a blueberry touch. Good.

Bottled 330ml (from Bierkoning, Amsterdam, BB 02/2020) Opaque colour, small brownish head. Toasted, ashy aroma, hints of smoke, a bit inky too. Medium-bodied. Toasted flavour is ashy and coffeish. Not my favourite combination when both are in same beer. But ok drinkability. Bottle may be 11 months old (acc. to BB), maybe lost some hoppyness on the way.

33cl bottle. A very dark brown beer with a huge most good lasting beige head. Aroma of roasted bitter dark malt, coffee, bitter hops. Taste of dark roasted malt, coffee, burned malt, some liquorice, bitter hops, medium to high carbonation. Great!

0.33 l bottle from 'Sterk Avondverkoop', best before February 2020. Black with a medium large, frothy, almost stable, beige head. Sweetish-malty, moderately roasty and slightly resiny aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, hazelnut and some pine. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, quite roasty and slightly resiny taste of dark chocolate, coffee, licorice, some pine and a touch of hazelnut, followed by a medium long, rather bitter, roasty-dry and quite resiny finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy and moderately effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice one!

Bottle at home. Black with good sized brown fizzy head. Peat smoke on the nose, quite a lot of it! When sipping it’s more roasted malts and soft red fruits that come to mind first, though there’s still some ash and light goat notes. Soft caramel, hay, and quite some tobacco towards the finish. Light grass and a hint of lime. Just medium sweet and medium bitter. Medium bodied with the carbonation a bit on the fizzy side. Decent stuff!
