OLDBORN IS AN ENGLISH-STYLE PORTER BREWED WITH À BLEND OF 2 ROW AND SPECIALTY DARK MALTS INCLUDING FLAKED AND ROASTED BARLEY. IT WAS LIGHTLY HOPPED IN THE KETTLE WITH EKG, AND FERMENTED WITH A TIMELESS BRITISH YEAST STRAIN. SUMMER MAY BE AROUND THE CORNER, BUT THIS ONE WILL QUENCH THE THIRST DURING THE CLASSIC SEATTLE JUNE-UARY BETWEEN NOW AND THEN.

Jet black with a small white head. Roasty dark malts. Bitter and lots of chocolate with a long toasted cocoa finish. Solid.

On tap at Holy Mountain, pours a deep dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out earthy bready malt, dry cocoa, and some crusty bread. Flavour is dry and chocolatey, earthy roast, and crusty bread. Lightly sweet, with dark cocoa and earthy bready malt on the finish. Excellent.
