Cask at Euston Tap, 24th August 2012. Nice hoppy Black IPA, very bitter finish, I liken this to Buxton Imperial Black the Buxton is better

Cask at Euston Tap, London. A dark brown/black coloured pour with a small off white head on top. Roasty, malty, dark fruit aroma. Tastes roasty, malty, caramel, burnt dark fruit almost sour, slight sweetness. It is not bad.

Cask at the Euston Tap, London. Pours black-brown with a soft, beige cream head. Nose holds lots of heavy, burnt pine, strong roast and pungent graperfruit. Big sweet flavor with sturdy roasted malt character, some tangy fruits, mild dirt, some charcoal. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Very sticky and resinous to finish with loads of wet pine, toasted grass, then lots of juicy, citrus and tropical fruits come in. Plenty of grapefruit, with orange, tangerine, pineapple. Hints of tang. Lingering tar and sweet, citrusy fruits. Quite a dynamic black IPA. Very good.

Cask at the Cask, Pimlico - 07/08/12. Off black to mahogony brown with a thin off white/beige head. Roasted caramel/toffee nose with some bitter hops. Grassy/straw taste, a little pine, figgy - jam richness. Finishes in a bitter dry way. Decent Black IPA.

Dark brown, some light through, off white head, some lacing
Aroma - roasted malts, dark caramel malts, soft citrus and grassy hops, quite hoppy but mainly its the malts, hardly any booze
Taste as aroma, soft grassy hops, nice mellow dark malts, very soft roast, some bitter chocolate, its really quite stouty and a bit a resinous hop.
Palate - soft carb, medium body. Finish as main flavour, more hoppy zest and roast malts - good balance between the two
Overall - This is a really good BIPA - quite stouty flavour
