In early 2021 we brewed again with our American friends from Jackie O’s from Ohio. This time the Hive Mind went into barrels for 11 months that previously contained both port & whisky at different times. Get ready to get smacked in the face by this honey & walnut Imperial Stout of 12.5%!

Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6.5 | Flavor - 7.5 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5

No head; viscous jet-black beer. -1 point for the ridiculous, irritating, pretentious wax. Sweet, roasted, musk, rubber. Roast, toasted wood, whisky, faint smoke, nuts (even if I would have expected more walnut, specifically). Very full bodied, rich, velvety feel, alcoholheat, not very carbonated. Surprising from BBP - in the good way.

Appearance - 7 | Aroma - 7.5 | Flavor - 7.5 | Texture - 7 | Overall - 7.5

Pours black, not much head. Scent is showing some barrel heath, milder roast. Taste is full, bit too boozy-sharp. Mild on the honey. The BA profile quite overpowers. Medium thick body, medium low carbo. I actually prefer the basebeer, this is simply to boozy and sharp - even demeaning the body the basebeer had.
