Imperial Porter 19°

Bottle from 100 piv. Dark brown color with medium beige head. Roasted malt, coffee, licorice. Taste, roasted malt, caramel, licorice, chocolate.

Tap at Gozo Café. Quite good beer from Kaltenecker. Very clean, with rich malty profile, roasty, chocolate, caramel, a hint of coffee. Well attenuated, not overwhelmingly sweet, quite the contrary. Well balanced and rather dry if anything. Easy drinking. Good.

Canned 500ml. -Courtesy of and shared with Marko (thanks!) Almost black coloured, small brown head, coffee in the nose. Light roasted malt, coffee, caramel, mild hops and notes of wood with subdued alcohol in the finish. Once again Kaltenecker didn’t disappoint.

Enormous thanks to Cuso and Gurthnar for this one! Shared with Ogivlado. Almost black, very dark brown, amber reflexes at the bottom of the glass, opaque otherwise, off white, small creamy head. Fresh aroma, getting vague green fruit and caramel on top of some toasty malty notes. Bready, not getting chocolate. Changes somewhat in the taste, yeah, soft, coffee, slightly lactic, brown sugar, caramel, Very, insanely well hidden alcohol. Still not getting any chocolate, but fresh and supremely drinkable. Damn this is a deceiver. Very, very well crafted, even if it’s not the most complex beer around. Great job!

0,05l from tap at Pivobrana Festival Bratislava. black color, small tan head. smells caramel, bubbel gum, licorice, appel, creamy. nice smell. full body, soft carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of licorice, caramel, spices, some fruits, light pines. finishes with licorice and caramel. decent stuff, a bit one sided but not too bad
