A silky 8.5% whopper of a dark craft beer, she’s guaranteed to leave your taste buds tingling from the luscious treacle and molasses effect of dark malt combined with a sneaky left-hook of hops. Selene pours as black as a moonless night with a slim milk chocolatey brown head and is a limited edition beer, brewed by our staff on the Craft Beer Kitchen in 2015.

Bottle, thanks Craig! Almost black. Malt, roast and licorice in the aroma and flavor. Sweetish. Thinnish. Apple syrup. Alcohol.

Bottle courtesy of Craig (cheers Craig!) consumed at home down the office listening to 6 music, Wednesday 24th August 2016 Black in colour with a rapidly diminishing off-white head. A bit like stout v cola pop on first sip. However there is some liquorice and a touch of coca cola and light chocolate, soft in the mouth and a bit of burp. Nice enough but getting lots of cola. Bottle from Stewart Brewing. Dark brown body with a thin beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of prunes, chocolate cake and earth. Flavour of chocolate, cocoa powder and an unexpected squueze of lime. Thin to medium body with a watery texture. Soft fizz. Not very complex and thinner than expected.

Bottle from Stewarts Brewery shop. Appearance - opaque black with a lovely fawn head. Nose - candy sugar, toffee, molasses, that sort of thing. Taste - more toffee and molasses. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy and sweet texture and a fairly decent finish. Overall - it leans towards a Belgian Dubbel somewhat.
