Bouteille 12oz, courtoisie de Hogtownharry. De couleur noire-rouge et transparente. Nez de malt rôti, d’un mélange de chocolat noir et au lait, moyen de café noir, légèrement fruité (raisins, notes de prunes) et de crème (notes lactiques) ainsi qu’avec des notes de noix et de houblon herbeux. Moyenne-mince en bouche avec un pétillement moyen et une texture moyennement crémeuse aux petites notes huileuses. Goût de chocolat au lait sucré (reste présent en arrière-goût) et léger de crème (légèrement lactique) ainsi qu’un léger goût fruité (léger de raisins notes de prunes, traces de cassis) et aux faibles traces notes fumées lors de l’entrée en bouche auquel se rajoute rapidement un goût moyennement amer de malt bien rôti (faibles notes brûlées) et léger de chocolat noir et un goût de café qui augmente progressivement tout au long de la gorgée jusqu’en finale ou l’on retrouve un léger goût de houblon herbeux (petites notes florales) ainsi que des notes de noix. Post-goût long-moyen et aux petites notes sèches, moyennement amer de rôti, de chocolat au lait, de café et de houblon herbeux avec des notes fruitées (moût de raisins) et de noix.

Bottle. Cocoa powder malt and wood ash aroma. Dark brown with giant tan head. Ashy cocoa malt flavor with mild hops finish. Very nice stout - a much better choice than Guinness in the states.

Bottle. Creamy lightbrown good mostly lasting head. Dark red-amber colour. Moderate malty and moderate hoppy (flowers) aroma. Well balanced between hopps and malt. Moderate bitter flavor. Nice chocolate notes. Long bitter hoppy! finish. Creamy palate. Great stuff.

Clear dark brown color, medium brown head. Aroma of tar, coffee, roasted malt. Roasted taste, slight bitter, hint of chocolat, bit fruity as well of dried fruit.

On tap at Capital Ale House - Downtown. Deep ruby body with a medium creamy light brown head. Sweet coffee and chocolate aroma. Sweet creamy coffee, chocolate and light roast flavor.

Bottle. Dark brown stout with a thin, pale foam. Not very "heavy", but has a nice roasted aroma and a hint of fruit ? There is a slight bitterness in the finish.

Rated November 2006. Dark-dark brown color with creamy mocha head. Aroma is molasses, coffee and burnt malts. Yum, nice malt flavors break right out of the glass: roasted malts, chocolate malts and a pinch of black patent burnt malts. There’s also a Monday morning hot cup of coffee flavor too.

Bottled. Brown/rubyish colour with mediumsized brown head. Aroma is raisins, sweet malts and dark chocolate. Roasted malts, toffee and chocolate in flavour. Hops become present in the aftertaste along with roast. OK stout, though it’s a bit thinpalated.

Bottle. Nice head with good duration. Color is close to black. Aroma is roast malt and coffee. Taste is coffee and bitter chocolate.
