Pie In The Sky Truffled NZ Whisky Barrel-Aged Barleywine was aged for 14 months in NZ Whisky Co casks. This dark amber beer presents a glorious harmony of black truffles and single malt whisky with notes of sherried walnuts, milk chocolate, dry spices and Christmas cake, with a lingering red wine finish.
These beers will age gracefully for many years, but are fabulous right now. Do not serve cold! Treat it like you would a port or red wine and serve it in an elegant glass.

Sweet, mildly boozy. Caramel, raisins, some earthy stuff that I guess is the truffles. Very nice.

A pretty nice example of what I'd want in an oldschool English barleywine. Loads of dried fruit, some spicyness and a bit of boozyness that does remind me of christmas cakes and winter evenings. The whisky is there, the truffles are not. A bit rough, tho
