Many thanks to Beerhunter111 for this 0,5l bottle. Best before 07.02.2015. Nice worthy beginning. Smooth with not too much sweetness, not much grain. Clean, crisp and smooth. Ideal for a great "Helles". The aftertaste is worthy, smooth with a nice round malty body. Great and ideal. Hints of bitterness in the background, which fit in very well! Easy to drink and still deep. Hints of caramel, nice grains, fresh and thirst-quenching.
For a "Helles", this is amazing!

From BA: Sept 2007. I bought two brown flip-top bottles (half-litres) on my visit in June 2007. I knew they would have a short life because of the set-up of the brewery, but I forgot to check and log the ’best before dates’ on my return to the UK. The bottles I am reviewing should have been drunk before 25th July 2007, I drank them today, 10th Sept 2007. Poured into my Berliner Kindl half-litre sleeve glass. I had this draught at the brewery, so knew it was going to be very cloudly. The colour is a dull orange with a good firm white head, not pure white, but whiter than biege. The aroma is of yeast and light malts, hops too. Not a lot of power in any of the smells though. The sharpness I remembered from the fresh draught beer had gone, but the sour refreshing taste was still evident, dry and bitter. This is a fine tasting beer. The sourness stays in the mouth, as does the dry bitter taste. What a pity I am not drinking this on a warm summers day on the banks of the river Mosel, but in damp old England. Obviously the freshness isn’t in the beer anymore, but it was still very drinkable and I will re-review this beer if I get the chance to do so with an indate bottle, or draught at the brewhouse.
