Gift from mate who is local to the brewery. Opaque gold with some haze. Thin foamy white head soon retreats. Aroma has citrusy and warming hops with malts for a marmalade effect. Bitter. More quinine than resin. Bitter lemon. Herbs. Underlying damp malta. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Soft-fizzy carbonation. Long dry astringent finish. More a very hoppy Old school twiggy brewer IPA than a West Coast. OK.

Clear golden with a head. The Atlas mountains provided the scariest bus journey of my life so far. Nothing scary about this Atlas hoppy-bitter, which is quite easy-drinking as long as you don't mind a mid-bitterness to your ale.

Cask at Five Lamps, Derby. Pours golden yellow with a small white head. Malts and some hints of citrus in the aroma. In the mouth, floral hops are the first to grab attention, and there is a fair amount of bitterness. After a while some sweetness starts to show, along with citrus and hints of honey. This is a decent enough beer – I’m not sure about the “white IPA” categorisation though.
