Bottle from Co-op, Eastbourne. Pours a clear amber colour with a medium sized throthy white head. Aromas of toffee, caramel, sweet jam and a touch of floral. Taste has more toffee, caramel and floral with notes of fruit salad sweets and a slight earthy hop on the finish. Medium to full body, low carbonation and smooth mouthfeel. Not bad but also nothing special.

Pours a clear amber colour with a small off-white head. The aroma is leafy hops, light caramel and malt. A moderately sweet taste, biscuity malts, light caramel and light fruit flavours with some leafy hops in the finish.

Cask-conditioned at the Lord John (JDW), Stroud, 7 July 2022. Amber in colour, with a slight, off-white, head. Aroma of leafy hops, caramel and ripe malts. Flavour had some berry fruits, biscuity, digestive, malts, leading to a moderately bitter finish. Fine.

Cask at Moon Under Water, Wolverhampton. Pours golden amber with minimal off-white head. Thereโ€™s corn and grains in the aroma here โ€“ but not to a huge extent. In the mouth it is bitterness which hits first, quickly followed by sweet fruitiness with summer fruits and some underlying caramel and malts. Still later there are floral hops and hints of oranges. Finish is slightly bitter. This is pretty decent โ€“ not a full blown IPA by an means, but some way from being a bitter.

Cask at Hole in the Wall, Portsmouth. Pours clear copper with a beige cap. Aroma: bready malts, caramel. Taste: light to moderate sweet & bitter, more caramel, mainly. Light to medium body with soft carbonation. Palatable but it's never an IPA in the modern sense.

Bottle from Tesco, Brooklands. Aroma is low key - some fruit, some caramel. Amber. Thin frothy creamy white head soon recedes. Medium bitter (just). Grainy. Quinine. Fruity edge. Light-medium bodied. Slick. Fizzy carbonation. Long dry slightly astringent. Nice enough.
