Interrogating this golden Belgian DIPA; the hop aroma reveals aromatic orange notes with hints of pepper. This smooth and refined beer delivers lashings of citrus fruit, balanced by subtle spice and an elegant bitter finish.

Can from Lidl. Clear amber gold with small white head. Aroma of sweet malts, banana, spices. It's sweet but with a nice long bitter finish. Citrus zest, pepper, pine resin, some undefined fruitiness. It's quite tasty although not really a DIPA, more of a strong golden ale. Good value.

(Can) Pours clear amber with good white head. Nice aroma of caramel, yeasty esters, pine notes. Medium body, smooth with good carbonation. Taste has plenty of caramel sweetness, some modest burnt sugar and hop bitterness. Pleasant enough if a bit sweet.

Clear golden colour with thin head. Not really a typical DIPA. A bit low on malt body. Also on genuine bitterness. Interesting notes of strawberry and subtle tangerine citrus. There's also a mild hint of Brett. The base beer would actually work well with a wild, funky element.

440ml can from Lidl. Pale amber in colour, with a slight, white, head. Sweet and slightly sweaty aroma, with some ripe fruit and a touch of barley sugar. Flavour had some candy sugar, slightly yeasty gains and led to a boozy finish. Not much payback for the relatively strong ABV, but ok.

Can courtesy of dad and shared with Dad, Friday 6th May 2022 sat in the Caravan bar, at Dad and Pauline's, Rawson Green Nr Belper, Derbyshire Pours hazy gold/amber in colour, hazy with a small white head. Describes as a Belgian DIPA, I get next to no bitterness, it's far too sweet and there are very little traces of Belgian'ness' here. I found this a mess of a beer.

Can from Aldi. Shared with jeevan. Pours clear golden amber with a thick white head. Aromas of caramel, spice, marmalade. Taste is quite rich, light spice. Full mouthfeel. Sweet finish. Not much Belgian going on but.

Clear, lively beer with a thick white head. Smells of a little sharp fruit with a little sweetness. Flavour is surprisingly sweet and surprisingly mellow. I know they're going for a 'Belgian' DIPA but it doesn't have either the powerful hoppiness you'd expect of a regular DIPA or the sort of depth of flavour you'd expect from a Belgian beer. This is just quite light and sweet, rather more like a run of the mill golden ale to be honest. It's fine but unremarkable and doesn't really do much to reflect the style or the strength.
