This iteration of Zenne y Frontera is a one, two and three year Sherry Barrel Aged Lambik Blend
This Zenne y Frontera is a special blend of sherry lambikken that have aged for one, two and three years on Oloroso, Fino and Amontillado barrels. By doing so, the average weighted aged of the blend is 32 months on the moment of bottling.
One of the barrels that we used has some slightly peated characteristics next to the typical sherry notes. The lambikken were sourced from five different brews, of which more than half of the volume was brewed by us.

750mL bottle, pours a somewhat clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of barnyard funk, aggressive sherry barrels, and gentle floral character. Flavour is full of intense barnyard funk and horse blanket, lots of sherry barrels, a hint of acidity, and hay. More complexity than most Zennes, also with more sherry character. A lovely treat.

Bottle, 750 ml, shared with Luka and Miro B. Cloudy orange with white head. Funky, fruity, citric, barnyard, medium sourness. Complex yet refreshing.

ABV: 8.5%. Clear medium orange yellow colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, of-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, wheat, barnyard, leather, funk, oak, port - sherry. Flavor is moderate sweet with a long duration, wheat, barnyard, leather, funky, oak, port - sherry, grapes - citric, dry, lovely - Great ! Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20230107]

750ml bottle. Tartish, slightly funky and sourish with hints of apple juice, sherry, peat, oak and earthiness. A bit stuffy compared to 53 and 56.

Rating december 2022 : Pours unclear, darker oramgeamber. Medium sized, creamy white head. Scent is mature, woody, but not overly nutty. Mild funk and tart impressions, but all the more creamy because of that. Taste is sharp, bit peaty / smokey almost. Very drying, meaty, mild to hidden nuttyness. Much sharper, tarter than expected , with quite a bit of acetic acid ( but not killing it ). Very strange, atypical ZYF. 7.4/10
Re-rate ( actually the re-surfaced original rating of july 2022 ). Gusher. Pours an unclear, darker amberblonde. Small white head. Scent is full , expressive lambic funk , charred wood. Not overly expressive on the sherry. Taste is midlly peated, fleshy, smoked a bit. Unexpressive on the sherry. Sharp carbo, medium dry body. Medium intense tartness. Decent, but not in line with expectations. 7.7/ 10

Hazy dark yellow colour with lasting thin head. Aroma has amazing wood intensity. Definitely like very old sherry. Some toasted almonds too. Intense woody dryness. Marzipan. Strong, slightly spicy vinegary finish.
