This iteration of Zenne y Frontera is a one, two and three year Sherry Barrel Aged Lambik Blend

This Zenne y Frontera is a special blend of sherry lambikken that have aged for one, two and three years on Oloroso, Fino and Amontillado barrels. By doing so, the average weighted aged of the blend is 32 months on the moment of bottling.

One of the barrels that we used has some slightly peated characteristics next to the typical sherry notes. The lambikken were sourced from five different brews, of which more than half of the volume was brewed by us.

EN Zenne y Frontera is a blend of traditional lambics that matured on old authentic sherry casks.

Poured from 750mL bottle (no 66; 20/21; bottled 27/07/2021; bb 26/10/2041). Hazy orange gold with small white head. Barnyard funk, mild sherry with feint peaty iodine notes. Very nice.

Hazy and dullish. Thin head. Aroma is earthy, leathery, that touch of peat is interesting. Juicy, gueuzey, moderate carbonation, good complexity. The peat is still lingering, and the sherry barrels lend complexity, nuttiness, dryness. Complex and drinkable. This is great.

750ml @ Ryan's shared with Farees, Josh (thx for the beer!), and Alex.
Aroma: a lot of funk, some peat and sherry notes, bold, some acidity.
Taste: along the same lines, quite acidic, peaty.
Overall: interesting one.

Slightly hazy orange pour with a stable white head; aroma is rich and complex - sherry (no surprise), oak, port, grapes, marmalade. Taste is similar - long pleasant finish. Delightful

Poured from a 750 ml bottle dated July 27, 2024. Aroma has light sherry notes and a bit of barrel character with a touch of peat coming through. Light green grapes, stone fruit and lemon notes. Lighter herbal, earthy mustiness. Hints of grain and light alcohol notes. Pours a fairly clear golden-orange color with a bit of copper as well with a medium large, thick, fluffy white head that recedes to a small film that lingers. No lacing and small legs. Flavor is slightly sweet with a medium light acidity and light grain notes. Low bitterness and light alcohol notes. Medium light sherry notes with light barrel character and a bit of a peat note. Some green grape, lemon and apple notes. Very light earthy, herbal funk. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with medium high carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, a solid gueuze, but not my favorite. The peated barrel character adds a note that does not really work for me. Additionally, while the beer is not too acidic which I really like, it also doesn't have much funkiness to it.

750mL bottle, pours a somewhat clear golden with a small white head. Aroma has plenty of barnyard funk, aggressive sherry barrels, and gentle floral character. Flavour is full of intense barnyard funk and horse blanket, lots of sherry barrels, a hint of acidity, and hay. More complexity than most Zennes, also with more sherry character. A lovely treat.
