Sample courtesy of Grumbo, cheers Graham! Deep brown amber colour, thin off-white foam head and aroma of malt, earthy, smokey hint. Taste is sweetish, malt, earthy, smoked note, tangy with nutty bitterness. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, dry bitter finish. Quite OK

2/6/2022. Cask at the 35th Colchester Real Ale & Cider Festival. Pours dark mahogany brown with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma is malty, earthy, tarmac, meaty, Bovril. Moderate sweetness, medium to heavy bitterness. Medium body, slightly creamy, soft carbonation. Not bad but a bit hard work.
