Saison by this new microbrewer in Jemeppe-sur-Sambre, made with a large portion of unmalted wheat (like witbier, and hence the “raw”). Thick and moussy, snow white, shred-lacing head on a hazy yellow blonde beer. Aroma of apple peel, freshly cut grass, straw, white bread, banana peel, raw cereals indeed. Crisp, fruity onset, apple slices mingled with banana, lively carbonated with a rounded, cereally body, white-bready and grainy with that typical wheat slickness to it, ending with a grassy, drying, quite ‘long’ hop bitter aspect. Quenching, technically well executed, classically styled saison with indeed a raw cereal-like aspect to it – which for me had not been necessary, I think the beer would have been better with malted wheat…

18/VI/22 - sample @ De La Sambre Saison Festival, BB: n/a (2022-749) Thanks for sharing!
Cloudy blond beer, small creamy white head, stable, non adhesive. Aroma: very malty, grains, hay, banana, cow fodder, a bit fruity. Very rural character with some bread yeast. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: malty, grains, hay, lots of banana, pretty bitter, grassy, refreshing. Aftertaste: hoppy, dry, a bit yeasty, more grassy notes, nice bitter ending, decent!
