This collaboration with our friends from Twin Sails Brewing started one fateful night in the town of Dunham. We were lodged together in a house on a hill, for Brasserie Dunham’s Foudres Unis festival. After sharing a few beers, the plan for this collab was hatched! We departed from our usual base wort, opting to include Cara Aroma and Munich malts. After fermenting for 16 months in Spanish red wine barrels the resulting blend has medium acidity, bright red fruit notes, light wine tannin, and a dry finish.

375mL bottle, pours an opaque, rusted amber orange with a small white head. Aroma is dominated by the sweet red wine barrels, some rustic notes, and light earthiness. Flavour is somewhat oxidized, with earthy oakiness, some wild yeast, and gentle red wine notes. A bit duller than I assume it was upon release, but it retains a nice yeast character and very soft red wine notes. Good stuff.

Poured from 375mL bottle (2020 vintage; bottled 2020-10-02). Hazy amber orange with small off white head. Soft wine barrel, some cardboard oxidation, mild tartness, oak, wonder if it's age or from before they really started hitting their stride. Average.

375mL bottle. Pours murky dark orange with a white head. Tart red berries, rustic yeast, and light red wine barrels on the nose. Flavour has a tart, rustic yeast character, dried berries, and a light & dry red wine character; finishes dry and woody. Very nice, not super complex compared to some of the stuff they do now, but still a great wild ale.

375ml capped and corked bottle. (2020 vintage). Pours a hazy amber-orange with a small, foamy, long lasting, off-white head that laces nicely. Sweet aroma of caramel malt, red wine, Brett, oak, vinegar and floral hops. Sweet flavour of caramel malt, red wine, tart cherry, Brett, oak and floral hops in a dry, sour, slightly acidic finish. Medium body with a slick texture and average carbonation. Nice complexity.

A hazed golden ale with a thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with Brett, light lactic notes, light white grapeskin, light mineral notes, pleasant. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity malt with light ground cherry, light lactic notes, light Epsom salts, light buttery notes, very nice. On tap at The Monolith.
