Der Hopfen ist charaktergebend für ein Pilsener. Bei Duckstein Opal Pilsener kommen gleich vier Aromahopfen zum Einsatz. Dabei ist der Opal-Hopfen der Primus inter Pares. Die Zitrus- und Mangonoten des Opalhofens sorgen für einen leicht fruchtigen Geruch. Der Clou ist die zusätzliche Kalthopfung, die das Hopfenaroma betont. Eine ausgewogene Malz-Mischung (Pilsener, Münchener, Cara hell & red) und die Reifung auf Buchenholz runden die Rezeptur an. So entsteht ein schlankes, goldfarbenes Bier mit ausgewogener Hopfenbittere.

0.5 l bottle, bottled in June 2015, thanks Secret Sint! Clear, golden yellow with a medium large, foamy, almost stable, white head. Sweetish-malty, minimally fruity-grassy aroma of hay and sweet malts with hints of citrus. Sweetish, already slightly bitter, malty and slightly grassy taste of hay, sweet malts and hints of citrus, followed by short, slightly bitter, grassy finish. Medium body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, average carbonation. Not bad, just fairly average and bland.

50cl bottle. Pours clear deep golden colour with a mid-sized white head. Aroma of mild hops, grain, bread, some caramel. Taste is mild hoppy, toasted malt, some grain, nothing special!

(bottle) Clear, golden colour with a blond and medium-sized foamy head. Citric hoppy and mildly floral aroma with delicately herbal accents and a slightly biscuity malty background. Slightly bitter and discreetly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a moderate carbonation. Soft malty base with a whiff of biscuits and traces of caramel, backed by mildly fruity and flowery hops and a tinge of resin; moderately bitter and delicately sweet finish with present hoppy notes. Balanced Pilsener interpretation. 12.X.15

Süffiger, süßlich herber Antrunk. Die hopfigen Aromen sind mild, gefallen aber. Spritzig, das Aroma bleibt konstant. Mittelstarke Würzigkeit, weich. Nett! 11/10/11/11/12/11

Many thanks for this beer to Beerhunter111 & Erzengel. Pours a pale yellow, clear appearance with a white head. Pretty dull, a bit soapy, straw, grassy aroma. Dull herbal, soapy/floral, grainy flavor.

Bottle. Golden, low head. Fine leafy nose. Medium light mellow body. Soft malt, light flowery malt. Quite light footed.

Many thanks to McTapps for this bottle! Smooth floral beginning. Fresh, floral, not too deep. The body is grainy with a moderate sweetness. The hops are there, but not too intense. Nice floralness, moderate grain, round an good Pils, but nothing too special. And: Where are the promised hops??
