Tap @ De Prael. 2013 version. Orange blonde. onion and vennel in the aroma. Citric hopbitter flavor with leather, onions and vennel. Too young, too bretty. Needs more time to calm down and develop.

The dryhopping with Nelson Sauvin is great, but the Brett is a bit too dominant in this one. Unbalanced, a shame really.

On tap at De Prael. Hazy deep golden colour, white head. Aroma of full-on Brett, poo, funk, earth, stable, just light hoppy. Flavour is dry, bitter, funky, poo, earth, very Bretty, bitter finish, light fruity. Light-bodied.

Tap @ de Prael. Bit hazy yellow color, big rocky head. Aroma of brett, some soft hop tones. Bit bitter, bit dry. It’s actually quite a shame this unintentional Brett infected beer gets poured on the Carnivale festival by Emelisse, without them putting any more effort in it by making some other intentional sour or bretted beers. Shame on you guys.

(Draught at Pikkulintu, 20130121) The keg label says Emelisse IPA but the aroma tells there’s brettanomyces and lots of it. The beer poured golden and almost clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had sourness, earth, fruitiness, cow house and malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were sweetness, fruitiness, sourness, earth, malts and bitterness. Aftertaste was sour, fruity and bitter. Somewhat confusing beer. Sourness was there but it got too much mixed up with hoppiness.
