Invited to brew in the US I wanted to use local ingredients. Agamemnon is an Imperial Stout brewed with maple syrup. Boiled 7 hours.

The rumors are toast, dark malt, with hints of cocoa, coffee and black patent. Flavors are like nose, fairly sweet up front, thankfully with good carbonation to help balance, little bitterness and a huge boozy finish. Maybe there's some Maple in there somewhere, I'm not sure. Nice beer.

16oz can pours out black topped with a tan head. Nose is nice big roast malts coffee chocolate maple syrup. Taste is more of the big coffee maple some chocolate cake.

16 oz can from Tavour. Nose is roast. sweet maple, cocoa, vanilla, and prunes.Black with a medium cinnamon tan head. Flavor is sweet, maple, vanilla, and chocolate.

Tap @ Rbabarrab. Poured pitch black with a thin brown head. Maple syrup all over. Really sweet, malty, toasty. Dessert.

Can. A- Smoke, candied bacon. A- Black color, black liquid, brown head. T- Smoke, umami, savory, char, burnt chocolate, iron, mild bitterness, mild alcohol. P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, robust finish. O- This is a huge beer, especially fresh. Lots of smoke and savory notes and honestly not a ton of sweet maple flavor. I'd venture to say the maple gives it that smokiness but not the sweetness I wanted. Aroma is great and taste is nice too but a touch behind the aroma. Overall really good but not amazing.

16 oz can from Tavour. Dark, ebony pour, fine beige ring of head. Sweet maple syrup aroma. Taste is sweet, roast malts, dark chocolate. While aroma comes on like a stack of pancakes, taste brings a nice mocha effect. Nice!
