Can from Tavour, Inky black in color with a thin bubbly tan head that surprisingly shows some retention. Rich molasses and dark sugars with bits of dark dried fruits. Caramelized sugars roasty chocolate and burnt grains. Thick mouthfeel bordering on straight syrup. Flavorful beer but thick and sweet.

$5.30 pint can, Wine Warehouse. Pours almost as black as the can, thick, small brown head. Aroma is deep roasted m,alt, maple syrup, chocolate, cocoa, coffee grounds. Oh that first sip is so nice: semi-sweet maple syrup followed by dark and milk chocolate, caramel, light ash, then back to the sweet-ish maple syrup... really nice.

Can from J's. Pours a pitch black with a finger of beige head. Marzipan aromas with hazelnut, cacao, maple and slight bacon notes. Mild maple leaf, cacao nib and milk chocolate notes. A touch of smoke and cacao nib towards the finish with a hint of maple. --- Beer merged from original tick of Agamemnon on 29 Mar 2019 at 22:43 - Score: 7. Original review text: Marzipan aromas with hazelnut, cacao and light lactose notes. Mild maple leaf, cacao nib and milk chocolate notes. Not bad.

16 ounce can into snifter, canned in 1/2019. Pours dense pitch black color with a 1 finger dense and rocky tan head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, maple syrup, caramel, toffee, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, vanilla, raisin, cherry, prune, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, wood, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Slight booze in the aromas as it warms. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/black/roast/bready malts, maple syrup, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast notes; with great strength. Taste of huge dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, maple syrup, caramel, toffee, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, and dark bread/crust; with lighter notes of licorice, vanilla, raisin, cherry, prune, fig, date, smoke, charcoal, wood, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness. Light herbal, woody, grassy, peppery hops; and roast/charred bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, maple syrup, caramel, toffee, roasted nuts, toasted biscuit, dark bread/crust, licorice, vanilla, dark fruit, cherry, smoke, charcoal, wood, leather, tobacco, herbal, grass, pepper, and yeast/roast/toasted earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, maple syrup, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; with a fantastic roast/hop bitter/sweet balance; and no cloying, acrid, astringent flavors after the finish. Lightly increasing dryness from lingering hop/char bitterness. Light-medium carbonation and very full body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/velvety, and lightly slick/sticky/chalky mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal lingering warmth of 12.5% after the finish. Overall this is an amazing flavored imperial stout! All around incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/black/roast/bready malts, maple syrup, and light-moderate earthy hop/fruity yeast flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the huge ABV, with the mildly bitter/charred/drying finish. Insanely rich/well rounded malts and balanced maple syrup complexity; with restrained fruity yeast, and solid earthy hop presence/balance. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example. Not as amazing as the BBA as expected, but pretty close.

Burk i hemmet. Oj här doftar det sirap följt av kaffe. I munnen sirap och kolade träfat. Alltså lätt bränd smak som balanseras av söt sirap. Yepp thats it, god men lite enkel och väl söt imp Stout.

Tap at Brasserie V. Thick, rusty beige head, very steady. Perhaps one of the most maple forward beers I've had, reminiscent of the Funky Buddha Maple Bacon beer. Huge flavor. Extreme stuff, quite tasty. Maple bomb. 5oz is more than enough.
