Can from Jak's Parkcrest, Burnaby
Blond colour, slightly pale, slightly hazy, with medium head. Aroma of hops, minerals, light garlic. It's off dry, yet the light residual sweetness adds a lot, making the malts appear more juicy; white bread; juicy hops, white grapes dominate, but also a touch of topical fruit and garlic; moderate bitterness, with evidence of alcohol.
I was worried, since this can may be a few month old, but this is a very enjoyable IPA.

473ml can. Pours a hazy gold-orange with yeast particles that sink to the bottom and a small, creamy, long lasting, white head that leaves curtains of lace. Aroma of pale malt, orange peel, earthy yeast and piney hops. Sweet fruity flavour of pale malt, overripe orange, pineapple, mango, earthy yeast, a hint of alcohol and piney hops in a dry, mild bitter finish. Medium body with a smooth, oily texture and average carbonation. Tasty, but almost too sweet.

Had this on tap at the brewery. Experimental IPA is apparently what the hop people are coaching breweries to call anything made with Phantasm. Hazy blonde, medium head. Nice lacing. The aroma is moderately fruity. Similar palate…some mellow indistinct hops, but at least there’s a decent pale malt base here…a bit sweet but otherwise solid. So more bitterness might help the hops shine a bit.
