Bottle from Alesbymail as Bear State. Hazy golden with a white head. Aroma is sweet, malty and moderate hoppy - citrus. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. 300716

Kirkas, kullankeltainen olut kivalla kestävällä sentin tiiviillä ja pienikuplaisella vaahtokerroksella, joka jättää myös pitsiä. Tuoksu eksoottisen hedelmäinen, sitruksinen, mutta myös makean maltainen ja karamellinen. Maku eksoottisen hedelmäinen, havuinen ja maltaisen makea. Loppupuolella katkerampaa greippistä otetta. Melko täyteläinen runko, kuiva ja katkera jälkimaku. Lopussa havuisuutta ja pihkaa kivasti. Tässä on oikeastaan yllättävän hyvä liitto makeampaa karamellisuutta ja katkeraa pihkaista havuisuutta.

Draft at Gollem, Amstel. Hazy golden orange with a white head. Aroma of citrus, caramel malt, fruity hops and orange. Flavour is above moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. [20-07-2016]

Bottle at home picked up from beer gonzo. A slightly hazed bright golden orange coloured pour with a lasting sticky white head. Aroma is nice fresh zippy zesty lemon, woodland pine, soft white bread. Little orange rind on the nose as well. Flavour is composed of semi crisp bready grains, orange rind, pine, hint of cut grass. Crisp and a little mineral in the finish. Hides the 7% pretty well. Palate is medium light bodied, semi sweet with a crisp finish. Very well balanced and drinkable.

BOTTLE 50 CL as Bear State. Clear orange-amber, off-white head. The aroma id packed with tropical fruit - mango, passion fruit, peaches. Just a touch of fresh green hops. The taste is medium-sweet - pale malts and mango, with a dry pungent bitterness. It might be a bit too strong at 7% abv - got a little alco-heat in the finish. Very good.

500ml bottle as Bear State from Favourite Beers. Hazy pale orange colour with a two finger white head. Aroma of sweetish caramel malt, hops, fruit, pine, floral. Taste of sweet light malts with a slight earthiness, caramel, citrus, fruit, bitter hop finish. Fairly well balanced but it being billed as a west coast IPA surprises me as it feels more like a British one, the hops don’t stand out as much as I was expecting them to. Still, a nice IPA.

500ml bottle. Pours orange gold with a large head. Aroma is caramel, piney hops and banana. Taste is toffee to start with a gassy, bitter orange finish.
