Bottle 33 cl. Pours a dark brown with an orange hue and next to no head - fat and greasy. Rich, fatty aroma of overripe fruits and nuts with a woody touch. Rich and filing body, very, very sugary sweet with more of the above paired with oaky tannins. Woody and oxidized with a low carbonation and a warming alcohol finish. Rustic, but not bad. 100823

Bottle. Clear deep amber, yellowish head, dissipates quickly. Aroma is big, with dried fruit, oak, wood, vanilla. Taste is full bodied with an oily texture, moderate to high bitterness, sweet and impressively hidden alcohol, long finish. Excellent sipper. Will be interesting to spare one for comparision for a year or two.

(Draught at Stockholm Beer & Whisky Festival, 7 Oct 2022) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head. Malty, vinous nose with notes of dried fruit, rum raisins, figs, prunes, oak wood and fortified wine. Malty, vinous taste with port wine, dried fruit, raisins, figs, chocolate, caramel, oak wood and a mild spicy bitterness in a warming finish. Full body, quite sweet. Rich and warming, fairly well balanced for its strength. Very nice.

--Bottled, from Systembolaget. -- Darkesy brown, small head. Raisiny port aroma. Sweet with full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Dominated by rasiny port. Sweet with dark sugar, red apples and caramel. Warming finish. Pretty good, but also rather simple and devoid of complexity. --- Beer merged from original tick of BA Barley Wine on 06 Oct 2022 at 19:57 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5.
