I had tried this one during a beer festival and had liked it, so I was looking forward to getting a whole bottle. Sadly I was quite disappointed. +++ Sampled from a 16.9 oz clear bottle the beer poured a dark ruby-mahogany color with lots of floaters. There was a sour vinegar aroma. The beer was somewhat flat. The flavor was bitter, had some hops and some roasted malt on the finish. Really I think I got a bad bottle. But any brewer that cares so little as to put the beer in a clear bottle deserves any poor ratings they get when their product is spoiled. Also they lose sales as I certainly will not risk my hard earned cash on another bottle of this stuff.

Well, I'll mention the peat flavour. It's there, in Lowland quantities mind you. Otherwise, bright auburn; aroma like a dense forest of Douglas fir, meat pie and Auchentoshan; a little thin & metallic though (has it gone off a bit?); earthy malts, touch of toasted caramel. Finishes to quickly.
