33cl bottle. A black beer with a tan head. Aroma of roasted strong dark malt, some honey, chocolate. Taste of sweet strong dark malt, honey, chocolate, burned malt. Not too boozy.

330 ml bottle. Pours black with light fizzy head. Aromas of chocolate syrup, honey, vanilla, and roasted malts with just a bit of red berries. Flavors of dark chocolate, vanilla, honey, and bitter roasted malts. Warm finish. Excellent.

33cl bottle from Abeervinum, Rimini, Italy. Pours black, with fine brown foam. Aroma is rich, of cocoa, vanilla, coconut, molasses, some oxidation. Body is smooth, fairly dense, with nice ticking carbonation. Taste is intense, with a mix of sweetness and quite a chili feeling. There must be also a good dose of bitterness, but it's overpowered by the above chilliness.

An apparently potent imperial stout delivered to me by one of my Belgian retailers, always appreciated. A snifter arrayed, let us go. Assuredly dark, just this side of totally black and a no mas head. A smell of farmland sweetness and grain. But the taste, geez, it is enlightening. Dark whole grain bread, toffee, chocolate, vanilla, red licorice, honey I assume and sorghum. Low anticipation is significantly exceeded.
