Corked bottle. One year old, but still a great black IPA that has kept well. Reddish brown color. Roast and berries in the aroma. Firm roasty grassy hopbitter flavor with red and black berries. Hint of Tobacco.

Bottle from Burg Bieren, large sample. Slight hazy brown color, medium frothy brown head. Aroma of roast, coffee, slight bretty funky notes, bit earthy hops. Soft bitter taste, slight lactic sourness, bit bubblegummy sweetness. Drank it too old to get any notes of hoppiness, but it was more of a mild stout/porter with a soft bretty note to it. Nice drink.

Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland Saturday Session 1 - 01/03/14. Murky chestnut brown with a moderate tan covering, has that 3 day old festival toilet water appearance - not a looker ! Nose is roasty, tangy hop notes, tarte red berry fruit aroma, earthy cocoa, light tropicals. Taste comprises light roast, baking powder, cocoa, jammy berry fruits, hoppy pang. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Sub par CDA, ugly as fuck, tarte aroma, taste picks up but doesn’t really deliver what I crave from this permier style. Clumsy and muddled - fail !

Bottle, 75cl corked. It pours a big, light beige head over an unclear, dark amber colored body. Lacings. The aroma is lemony sour with a roasted note. Not much else going on. It’s mostly lemony sour and funky on the palate, with some notes of roasted malts. Dry, medium bodied. Lightly roasted finish with a little lemony hint. A pretty boring one, but far from bad. 140301
