Frischer Hopfen, feine Malzsüße, vollreife Birnenaromen in eleganter Harmonie.

Corked bottle. Golden color. candied pear fruit and soft dusty notes in the aroma. Malty sweet alcoholic flavor with soft notes of roast and caramel. pear, hints of wood. Not really special considering the huge price tag. But good enough. Tasted again in august 2015. Canned peach in the aroma. Malty flavor with hints of cinnamon. A slight sourness. Apple, pear, obstler. Better as a year ago.

*75cl for 13,49€. 2013er edition. Malzig-alkoholisches Bier. Der Birnen-Brand ist rund aber deutlich zu spüren, malzig-süßlich, weich. Interessante Kombination, das Malz liegt oben auf, aber die alkoholische Obst-Note ist gewöhnungsbedürftig.

Bottle shared with Bierkoning: orange beer, aroma and taste are fruity, somewhat boozy

Bottle shared by bierkoning. Hazy pale yellow color, small white head. Smell and taste are very sweet and remind me of sweet raisins, slightly a touch of red fruit and slightly wood. Average body and carbonation. Weird..

Bottle(BKL2014): Reddish-golden, almost clear, small to medium-sized off-white head, pear-juice and grassy and piney hops in the nose; moderate sweet and delicate bitter flavour, medium bodied; the finish is dominated by peary aromas, supported by dome grains and some malt. Not bad, but not only because of the stupid name diappointing…

75 cl bottle vintage 2013 @ Timo A, BBE 23.04.2018
Aroma is quite odd with citrus notes, some caramel, apricot, cinnamon and hints of grass. Flavour is rather tart with intensive citron aromas, some green apples, some flour, yeasty notes and mint. Some meady honey notes too. A bit messy. Definitely not your typical (heller) doppelbock – I would take this a Belgian (sour) ale. Hides the ABV very well.
