Backlog December 2008 as Klasztorne Opata. Dark golden body under a white head. Very weak aroma, hint of malt. Taste is sweet and malty with low bitterness. Not much going on here.

Barwa ciemnobursztynowa, klarowne, piana biała, umiarkowanie obfita, całkiem trwała. W aromacie słodowość, nieco karmelu, nut opiekanych. W smaku słodowe, lekko karmelowe, lekko tostowe. Goryczka niska do średniej, wysycenie średnie, brakuje nieco ciała, jest wodniste. Raczej przeciętne piwo, na pewno dużo gorsze od Czarnego Smoka.

50cl bottle from Fresh Market, Kraków. Labeled as Piwo Opata. Pours amber color with a thin white head. Starch, cardboard, sweetness in aroma. Quite horrible. Sweet malts, starch and harshness in flavor. Drain pour. Dreadful.

Poured lovely dark amber ruby color. Aroma of plums and apricot with a hint of caramel. Taste was lighter than expected and the finish was dry, not bad.

Bottle, as Piwo Klasztorne Opata. It pours a clear, golden body with a nice, dense, beige head. Caramel, some fruityness and a touch of candy in the aroma. The flavor has caramel and fruityness, pale malts and some bitterness towards the finish. Rather short finsh. Medium body. A quite boring beer, more suited for binging than with a good book in the favorite chair. (081229)
