330ml bottle. Barely clear, orangey golden colour with average to huge, thick, frothy to creamy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, off-white head. Slightly clumsy hoppy aroma is grassy at first sniff, cautious citrusy hoppy notes, lemon and tangerine, make their way drudgingly to the foreground, a spicy touch of hay and and a trace of straw remain permanently. Taste is citrusy and bitter hoppy, notes of lemon, lemon zest, some grassy remnants. One thing comes to mind: would I go public with a beer like this? I can imagine to be satisfied with a result like this, being a homebrewer. I can imagine (not equally easily) to be satisfied with a result like this, because it is exactly what I’d intended, as commercial brewer. But as consumer (what I am), I’m still trying hard to detect reasons and causes accountable for and allowing to differentiate between those discrepancies that can be found in different beers, each belonging to the same style, apart from recipes: i.e. brewer’s skills, quality of ingredients, etc. And I’m not completely satisfied with this result ’cause I know it could be better (given the very same recipe).

On tap at Vagabund, Berlin on 23rd July 2014. Hazy gold with thin off-white part-lacing foam. Rich very dry grapefruit hop aroma. Dry grapefruit hoppy bitterness in-mouth and very dry bitter hoppy citrus finish.
