Bottle courtesy of Ekstedt shared @ Ekstedts bock-tasting. Pours hazy dark brown with a small white head that leaves no trace while dissipating. Smell is sweet and slightly stale with dark bread, prunes, raisins and hints of bread-spices. Taste is sweet with caramel, dark bread, orange peal, dates, prunes, raisins and hints of alcohol. Mouthfeel is round and medium bodied. Finish is sweet with caramel and dark dried fruits.

50cl bottle. Poured dark brown with a white head. Aroma is bready malty, with some roastedness as well. Flavor has bread, caramel, alcohol and sweetness, but not in a very disturbing way. Quite enjoyable doppelbock. Little too much taste of alcohol perhaps.

Bügelverschlußflasche: Clear, amber coloured, medium-sized off-white head, hops detectable in the relatively dry caramelly-fruity nose; moderate bitter-sweet flavour, medium bodied; increasing dryness in the caramelly and fruity finish, with hops in the slightly lingering aftertaste. (swing top bottle) Clear, chestnut-brown colour with a medium-sized tanned foamy head. Sweet, slightly molassy and melanoidic toast-malty aroma with bready notes, caramel and shades of alcohol. Sweet flavour, almost full bodied with a calm carbonation. Quite robust toast-malty and caramel-laden taste with hints of molasses and bread; moderately sweet and slightly bitter finish with caramel, traces of chocolate and alcohol in the aftertaste. 19.II.12

Swing top bottle from bierzwerg.de web shop. Reddish brown color with medium white head. Aroma of roasted malt, caramel, notes of metal. Taste, roasted chocolate, milk chocolate, nuts, caramel, light bitterness in background. Bittersweet finish. Not so bad, but little bit unbalanced.

Bottled, thanks Papsoe! Clear brownish amber. Caramelly nose. Medium-full bodied with very solid, well rounded mouthfeel. Some dusty caramel, mid bitter finish, Very distinct and archetypical doppelbock.
