Clear brown. Aroma is toffee,mushroom, melasses, light raisin. Taste is not really so sweet with some umami. Rather heavy. Alright.

Prädikator, ein dunkler Doppelbock aus dem Landshuter Brauhaus, Flasche von Getränke Appel, Moosburg. - Dunkles Kupfergoldbraun, klar. - In der Nase fettes toastig-dunkles Malz, Rosinen, Karamel und Rübensirup, undeutliche herbale Hopfung, mächtig aber derb. - Antrunk fett toast- und dunkelmalzig mit sirupartiger Süße, karamelisiertem Zucker, Anklängen an Trockenpflaume und solider aber derber hopfenwürzig-herbaler Hopfung. Milder rezent, vollmundig, schöne alkoholische Wärme. Im Abgang gut malzbitter und nicht zu knapp hopfenherb. - Ein Doppelbock der rustikalen Sorte, aber solide und sehr süffig. (12.6.2022.)

Bottle picked up from a random supermarket, consumed at home Wednesday 9th March. Listening to Ezra Furman standing in for Marc Riley on 6Music we had an excellent homemade Pastitsio with Will stopping tonight. Pours dark brown, a little hazy, soft moutheel, light chocolate and toffee, some molasses, it's a little bit chewy, it's fine but there are better out there.

On tap @Typical Truck Street Food (Rome). Color miele di castagno, intensa, schiuma ecrù media. Al naso note maltate, di caramello, frutta matura, leggero erbaceo. In bocca è dolce, maltata, caramello, con chiusura appena amara a bilanciare. Corpo medio, carbonazione media. Ok.

Swing top bottle from Bierzwerg. Brown color. Bready toffee aroma. Malty sweet, bready flavor with caramel and roast. Full bodied. Just a touch of alcohol. Sticky. Enough bite to compensate the sweetness. Good bock.

bottle from Getränke Fleischmann Wörth/Isar. Deep brown with a beige head. Malty with lots of chocolate and caramel, shy hoppy touch in the finish.

500ml Flasche. Ins Glas ergießt sich ein dunkel rötlichbraunes Bier mit geringer Schaumkrone. Geruch sehr röstmmalzig, schokoladig, fruchtig. Geschmack röstmalzig süß mit leichter Fruchtigkeit, leicht schokoladig.

Schöne Bügelflasche mit betrunkenem Mönch auf dem Etikett. Der dunkle Doppelbock ist schön kastanienbraun mit fast weißem Schaum. Der Antrunk ist vollmundig-süffig. Leicht süßliche Malztöne. dabei im Hauptteil auch schöne frische Hopfentöne. Der Nachgeschmack ist einerseits schön malzig und leicht süßlich, andererseits aber auch komisch muffig. Erde, altes Laub. Leicht staubig. Eine ganz komische Kombination, aber nicht unbedingt angenehm. Hinter dieser muffigen Note tritt ganz leicht eine süßliche Malzigkeit hervor. Kein Röstmalz spürbar.
--> Ein netter Doppelbock, aber der Nachgeschmack wiegt doch zu stark ins Negative!

Bottle 0.5 at home. Originally rated 18052012. Colour is clear copper with small white head. Aromas and flavours: Bread, caramel and malts.

From the bottle poured a dark amber brew with a rich, thick, tan head. Aromas and flavors were by far malt.
